I grew up in Hawaii, and still dance the hula. To the right is a photo of my parents and sister Wendy in London. See how cold they look? That’s what happens when you live in a tropical climate all your life. Wendy even gets chilly in the produce sections of grocery stores.

I majored in computer science at Stanford, then went to get my Ph.D. from Berkeley. The focus of my Ph.D. was in computer graphics, which confuses some people who think I do graphic design, but no, I'm on the computer science side. I was trained to build the software tools that make 3D movies like Toy Story, if that helps. My grandma thinks I own a computer store, but actually I'm one of the co-founders of Animeeple, a mobile gaming startup.

The bottom photo is of my husband, Okan, at the Smithsonian Air & Space museum. He likes airplanes but hates flying, so he loves that museum. The tiny figure in the top photo is him boogie boarding in Hawaii.
